  • Try Your Best: Always give 100% effort, whether in a match or a practice drill.
  • Respect: Show respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, and referees.

For Parents & Carers:

  • Support positively: Model good behaviour on the touchline. Encouragement only!
  • Get involved: Whether it's helping put up goals, running the tuck shop, or joining the committee, your help keeps the club fees low and the standards high.

Frequently Asked Questions

How old does my child need to be to join?

We welcome children from age 5 upwards. Our 'Mini Kickers' and 'Wildcats' sessions are perfect for beginners aged 5-7, while our league teams run from Under 7s up to Under 16s.

Can my child try it out before joining?

Absolutely. We offer free taster sessions for all new players. This gives them a chance to meet the coach and teammates to see if they enjoy it before you commit to signing up.

How much does it cost?

We try to keep football affordable. For the 2025/26 season, there is a £25 annual sign-on fee and monthly subs of £25 (August-April). This covers training, matches, winter venue hire, and insurance.

Do you have teams for girls?

Yes! We are proud to have a growing girls' section. We run FA Wildcats sessions for girls aged 5-11 and have dedicated girls' league teams. Girls can also play in our mixed teams.

What kit or equipment do we need?

Players need football boots (moulded studs are best for our grass and 3G pitches) and shin pads. Training kits are often available to purchase, and match kits are provided by the club/sponsors.

Where do you train and play?

Most of our teams train in Royston during the summer and at Dorothy Hyman in the Winter. Home games are played in Royston.

My child has never played before, is that okay?

Of course. We are an inclusive grassroots club. We welcome players of all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced players.

Do you hold trials?

We don't hold formal trials to exclude players. However, some squads may be full. If a team has space, we invite you to a training session. If a squad is full, we can add you to a waiting list.

Are your coaches qualified?

Yes. All our lead coaches are FA Level 1 qualified (or higher) and hold valid First Aid and Safeguarding certificates. Everyone working with children has an enhanced DBS check.

How do I pay the fees?

We use a secure online system called Team Fee Pay. Once registered, you can set up a Direct Debit or pay via card so you don't have to worry about bringing cash to training.

What happens if training is cancelled?

We try to keep sessions on, but British weather can be unpredictable! If we need to cancel due to frozen pitches or waterlogging, your team manager will notify you via the team WhatsApp group.

Can I stay and watch training?

Yes, we encourage parents to stay and support, especially for the younger age groups. We just ask that you foster a positive environment and let the coaches do the coaching!

Ready to start your journey?

Check your age group, find your team, and get in touch today. We can't wait to meet you.
